I have knitting to show! I’ve pulled out my languishing projects to a) finally get some pics of them and b) hold myself accountable to finishing them!

First off, out of the depths of my knitting graveyard is Orangina.  People, I think I started this thing in 2006.  How embarrassing.  I’m not sure why it has sat unfinished for so long.  I guess other projects took precedence.  But I don’t want to rip it out because I really do want to finish it and wear it!  I even have a matching camisole for it!  The front is finished.  I  just need to cast on for the back and then do the ribbing at the bottom.  Easy-peasy (she says over the sound of everyone’s laughter).

Let’s move on, shall we?

Next up, is February Lady Sweater.  Not much to show here.  Just working on the collar.  I think I put it down because I was scared that it was going to come out too short with the gauge I was getting.  But I’ve heard that this yarn can really stretch during blocking so I think I’m going to forge ahead and see what happens.

Now we have Nereides.  I’m not totally in love with this project yet but I hope to be by the time I finish it.  I’m just not sure if the slub yarn I’m using makes the pattern “interesting” or just a hot mess.  I hope it will be a nice airy wrap/scarf.  But I have to work on it without distractions because there is a lot to keep up with in the stitch pattern.

Last but not least is the Ribbed Lace Bolero.  Seriously, this thing is so close to being finished I could probably finish it up in a couple of hours.  So what’s stopping me?  Not sure.  I need to get on it.  The weather right now is perfect for it!

So there it is.  My knitting “dirty laundry” out for everyone to see.  There’s a lot there to keep me busy but I’m itching to cast on a pair of socks.  I just want something nice and portable and socks always fit the bill.  I’ll try and hold off but I’m not making any promises.

I didn’t finish updating all of the archives this weekend like I planned.  I got sidetracked playing around with the stylesheets here and I think I’m pretty happy with the way things are looking.  So I’ll keep plugging away at the archives and apologize if those old posts are showing up in your feed readers (I think Google reader is picking them up but not sure about Bloglines because it seems to have stopped picking up my updates all together. Gah.).  I also got a new toy on Sunday so I got a bit sidetracked with that as well.  Got myself the new Nintendo DSi XL.  I had a DS lite and loved it but when they said the new XL would have a 93% larger screen I jumped in line to get one.  Now I can better see my Mahjong tiles! (I am 87 years old)  And it comes with a larger, pen-shaped stylus so that my old-lady arthritic fingers don’t cramp up during those long Sudoku sessions.  Got the burgundy one in honor of my SC Gamecocks…

Love the new banner! Also, don’t feel bad about having a project going since 2006. I also have one I started that year (a ribbed sweater that I don’t even like the color of anymore), and my grandmother has a sweater she started when she got MARRIED. My GRANDMOTHER.

Ha ha! I love it! I just hope I’m not a grandmother by the time I finish Orangina. It may not be suitable for grandmothers to wear! 🙂
