Amiyah
$6 add to cart
Amiyah is a triangular shawl worked from the top down with increases on each side and along the center stitch.
The main charts are interchangeable so you can mix them up however you’d like! The shawl is also easy to make smaller or larger by repeating the charts as many times as you want!
This shawl works wonderfully with a variegated yarn paired with a complementary solid, but it would also look great in two solids or knit in just one color.
Both charted and full written instructions are included.
Finished Size
64 inches x 27 inches (size is dependent upon gauge and how severely you block it)
Suggested Yarn:
MC: Malabrigo Mechita, 100% merino superwash, 227 Volcan, 1 skein
CC: Malabrigo Mechita, 100% merino superwash, 035 Frank Ochre, 1 skein
Yarn Requirements:
approx 350 yards of variegated (MC) and 375 yards of solid (CC) fingering weight yarn (725 yards total)
Needles: US size 6 (4 mm) needles (or size to obtain gauge) & US size 7 (4.5 mm) needles for bind-off
Notions: yarn needle, stitch markers (4), blocking pins/wires
Gauge
25 sts and 34 rows/4 inches in stockinette st (unblocked). Gauge is not crucial since this is not a fitted garment but changes in gauge can affect both the size of the shawl and the amount of yarn required to complete it.
